# Weather Forecasting A little experiment in an attempt to identify the most accurate weather app. Not very scientific. 2025-07-16 - actual weather observations: | Time | Weather change | | ---- | ----------------------------------- | | 0800 | light rain - overcast | | 0830 | rain stopped - overcast | | 0910 | Broken cloud - warm sunshine | | 0935 | Few light spots - broken cloud | | 1020 | Thick cloud | | 1220 | broken cloud with bright sunshine | | 1520 | broken cloud bright sunshine - 24°C | | 1800 | Overcast | | 1900 | Bright sunshine | # What the apps say Data taken from the apps at around 08:00hrs: It would appear that the Met Office, in this case, was the one with least errors. ## Met Office ![[Weather-001.jpeg]] ![[Weather-002.jpeg]] ## Conclusion No one app appears to get it right all the time, some days some are better than others, there doesn’t appear to be any real consistency. It might be that we are living in a bit of a weather blind spot when it comes to forecasting, big weather events seem to be OK, but the localised stuff less so.
